GO TO THE FORUM
Hi Everyone,
To handle the large amounts of comments and to be able to make the content more search friendly I’ve decided to add a forum to my site.
Please post your customs related questions there instead of on my blog. This way hopefully we can help other people with the same or similar questions find the answers easier; rather than scrolling through comment after comment. Often times I find people asking the same questions that I have already answered either in a blog post or in a reply to a question in the comments section.
If there are any other Forum Topics you think needs to be added please let me know.
The Goal of this forum is again in line with my desire to help others. To create a place for discussion, a place for answers and assistance to the complex world of Customs policy, regulation and procedures.

CanadaPost did not collect GST/HST nor the 8.50 handling fee when parcel was picked up. I was out of province and had someone pick it up for me. When I got home the box had a big yellow “Collect Customs” sticker on it also a CU number, but no one collected anything. The person did sign for it and asked if anything was owing, the clerk we believe could have been a weekend student replied “NO” . I just got home and find this mess and am wondering what do I do now? I go to Florida every winter and do not want any border hassles. Do I wait for a bill?
Hi Mary, I wouldn’t worry about it. these things happen. You can always go by your local postal outlet and pay there if you are concerned about it.
